Pakistani Mass 12 to 15 hours loadshedding facing this time

LAHORE--Despite having generation capacity of about 16,000mw from the power producers, the national grid is still-facing above 5,000mw shortfall as the country is in the grip of 12 to 15 hours worst outages.
In rural areas people are facing more than 15 hours of shutdown.
In Lahore, about 12 hours loadshedding is continuing with two to three-hours long spells in some areas, the sources added.
Unscheduled-tripping has also added to the woes of Lahorites, the sources said. 
It has also been reliably learnt that LESCO was conducting loadshedding with discrimination while less outages were witnessed in elite areas and more for poor and underdeveloped areas of the City.
Minister for Water and Power Syed Naveed Qamar about two months back had announced at National Assembly floor that the shortfall would-remain under 3,000 megawatt during summer but his tall claim remains unfulfilled since the announcement was made.
Similarly, PEPCO Managing Director Rasul Khan Mahsud had also announced that if the power sector was-being provided proper fuel, there would be minor loadshedding.
But the situation is worsening day by day and the government had totally failed to provide relief to the people.
The PEPCO officials believe that controlling electricity shortfall under 3,000 is not a difficult task, yet it looks that the government is not serious-to solve the crisis. 
On Monday, according to PEPCO the electricity demand stood at 18,114 mw against the generation of 13,669mw, as per PEPCO’s claim. 
The sources told this-scribe that apart from severe fuel and gas shortage hampering power generation, PEPCO’s failure to maintain its own thermal units is causing a considerable portion of the total shortfall.
According to the sources, FESCO, MEPCO was conducting average 15-hour loadshedding in their limits while the-areas in the limits of HESCO, PESCO and QESCO had been facing about 8 to 10 hours loadshedding.
Meanwhile, PEPCO stated that 500kv double circuit (HUBCO-Jamshoro) transmission line tripped due to humidity. 
Hence, it created 1,200mw additional shortfall with the-national grid. 
However, the company is hopeful to repair the transmission-line on Monday.
